Advice:
My advice is based on one of my favorite quotes from Robert F. Kennedy, American lawyer, politician and U.S. Attorney General: “Some people see things as they are and say why? I dream things that never were and say, why not?”
I encourage every young woman to dream things that never were for themselves and the common good and then to find ways to convert those dreams to reality. More often than not this happens by taking one step at a time, not by getting there quickly in one giant step.
I do have one more piece of advice based on another quote from the movie A League of Their Own about a women’s baseball league that was started during World War II. As the coach was talking to his players, his paraphrased remarks go something like this: “It’s supposed to be hard. If it were easy anybody could do it. It’s the hard that makes it great.”
