Sheila Bair is the author of the book the Bullies of Wall Street. She directs girls seeking advice to chapter 15, “You Can Do Better”. Among other things, she states in this chapter, “My generation tried to do things the wrong way–making money by speculating on rising home prices, without thinking about the longer-term consequences of our actions when home prices inevitably declined. Your generation can do it better– by having some sense of responsibility for the welfare of your and future generations, and by contributing to our economy not through speculation, but by creating goods and services of real and lasting value.”
