Advice:
For me, the idea of service is very important. There is an old saying that goes: “Service is the rent you pay for room on this earth.” I believe that. I believe all of us have an obligation to care for and about those around us—not just our immediate family, but our community, which can extend as far as the imagination allows. As president of the Fashion Institute of Technology—which is a career college—I continually stress to our students that real success is measured by more than just the bottom line. My advice to them, and to all of your readers, is to make the spirit of service, of giving, the guiding principle of your life.
