Advice:

While we are living our years as teens- in junior high and high school- we have a great desire to have deep friendships with other girls. In our efforts to find new friends and share new experiences away from our homes, we can easily leave our own sisters and brothers behind. We may not mean to, but we send a message that they are not important when we have time for new friends, but none for them.

When life leads us forward into later years, we will find that the most important relationships and friendships are usually these- the ones with our very own sisters and brothers. Only they are bound to us through our whole lives so let’s be protective of those relationships, even when things are not going well between us. Never blow up or burn bridges with a sister or brother if it can be avoided. Friends come and go. Family is forever- or we hope that it will be and work to make it so.
