Dr. Lisa A. Rossbacher- President, Humboldt State University
Advice:
Stay focused on learning new things every chance you get. Study new languages, even if you only learn a few words and phrases. Listen to what other people are passionate about, and learn from them. One day, you will find a use for everything you have learned.
As a University president, I call on my education in geology (earthquakes and landslides in canyons!), math (budgets!), chemistry (hazardous waste in laboratories), history (institutional and regional background), psychology (interpersonal dynamics on campus), economics (endowment investment policies), English (I write every day), and meteorology (will it rain at commencement?). Never stop learning!
